Workers’ Compensation
UMD provides workers’ compensation benefits to employees who are injured in the course of their employment in accordance with the University System of Maryland and the State of Maryland Workers’ Compensation Act. Employees who sustain accidental personal injuries or occupational diseases arising out of and in the course of employment are covered by the UMD Workers’ Compensation program. Workers’ compensation benefits include medical treatment, wage replacement, vocational rehabilitation and compensation for permanent disabilities as well as other related benefits.
The Department of Environmental Safety, Sustainability & Risk (ESSR) offers guidance and support for workers’ compensation claims.
