Working with the Office of Real Estate, and other University of Maryland (UMD) units, OGC works with clients on real property matters relating to the ownership, construction, leasing and management of UMD property and facilities. Projects include land acquisition and disposition, maintenance, construction, renovation, leasing with outside/third parties, capital improvement projects, and environmental matters. Attorneys draft, negotiate, and review documents relating to real property and related transactions.

Research:  UMD follows certain procedures for the temporary use of UMD facilities for research purposes. There is a policy on the use of UMD facilities for research by non-university users. Please see below for more information on “temporary use of UMD facilities”.

Start-ups/Incubators:  Two UMD Units work with start-up programs and licensing incubator space. The contacts are:

UMD’s Policy on "Use of University Facilities by Non-University Users for Research- Related Activities" (see link below) provides guidance on how external individuals and entities may request access to and use of UMD research facilities, including incubator space. Please note that a Facility Use License Agreement is required to access and use these facilities, unless the non-UMD user has a Visiting Researcher appointment.
