Subpoenas/Legal Process

For the University of Maryland Community:

  1. The University is NOT authorized to accept service in civil litigation.
  2. All subpoenas, complaints or summonses pertaining to civil litigation must be served in the Office of the Attorney General (OAG).

    Baltimore, MD 21202

    OAG Civil Division also accepts service via email at the following email address: civil_service@oag.maryland.gov.
  3. If such a document is mailed to you, please email arainey1@umd.edu in the University’s Office of General Counsel to determine next steps.

 


 

For Those Trying to Serve a Civil Subpoena, or Send a Third-Party Civil Subpoena to the University:
